“He’s the best guitarist I have ever heard,” were the words spoken on national radio about Jeff Stanley, a musician, who in one song can vary between the diverse rhythms of funky reggae, fast ska, rap, and bee bop which might morph to open strings and wailing tones that will lead to melodic minor arpeggiated chords and spiritual pentatonics that have syncopated melodies and chromatic rifts thrown in with uplifting hammer-ons, pull-offs, bends, trills, harmonics in a drop-D tuning, some country, jazz, the occasional chillin’ vibe with a dominant 7th, flat the 13, then raise the 9th – all while holding the guitar behind his head.
